A bit about me.

I’m Vicky, the founder of Honey Financial Solutions — a Yorkshire girl who’s been helping people with their mortgage, protection, and home insurance since 2017.

I’ve not always worked in financial services. After a career break to raise my two girls, I was determined to follow a path that suited my skills and my values. It all started when I left my career in retail and realised just how important it was to make every penny work hard. My belief has always been that we all work incredibly hard for our money — so good financial advice shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be straightforward, honest, and genuinely helpful.

Over the years I’ve found my calling in working with clients going through one of life’s trickier periods — divorce or separation. It’s a time when the last thing you need is someone confusing you with financial jargon or making you feel judged. So I don’t do either. I listen, I get to know your situation properly, and I give you clear, practical advice that helps you move forward.

My parents divorced when I was a teenager — I understand first-hand how much a home means during that time. That understanding sits quietly underneath every conversation I have with a client in this situation.

As an independent adviser, I’m not tied to any lender — which means I search the whole market to find the right solution for your circumstances. Not just a tick-box exercise. Actually right for you.

My advice covers your mortgage, protection insurance, and home insurance together — because all three are part of making sure you and your home are properly looked after for your new circumstances. Nothing gets missed and nothing is left to chance.

I’m regularly recommended by solicitors and mediators working in family law, which I’m genuinely proud of. It tells me that the professionals working closest with these clients trust me to look after them properly.

Based in South Yorkshire and beyond, I work with clients across the UK — so wherever you are, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If you’re going through a separation and want to understand your options, I’d love to have a chat. No pressure, no obligation, and no jargon — just a friendly, honest conversation about what might be possible for you.

My commitment to you

Plain English, always

— I’ll explain everything clearly so you can make informed decisions, at your own pace, without feeling rushed or confused

Advice that’s right for you

— I take the time to understand your individual circumstances before I recommend anything. What works for someone else may not be right for you

Transparency about costs

— mortgage advice fees start from £499. The precise amount will always depend on your circumstances and will be discussed and agreed with you before we proceed. There is no charge for protection insurance advice

No pressure, ever

— my job is to give you the information you need to make the best decision for yourself. There’s no obligation and no hard sell

Support throughout

— I’ll keep you informed at every stage and I’m always available if you have questions

How I work — the Honey way

I’ve always believed that getting a mortgage should feel straightforward, not stressful. Here’s what working with me actually looks like — from that very first conversation to the moment everything is in place.

H — How are things?
Every conversation starts here. I want to understand where you are right now — your circumstances, your finances, and what you’re hoping to achieve. This initial, no-obligation call is our chance to get to know each other and for me to start building a clear picture of what might be possible for you. There’s no charge for this first conversation. Mortgage advice fees start from £499 — the precise amount will always depend on your circumstances and will be agreed with you before we proceed. The fee is charged at the application of a decision in principle. There is no charge for protection insurance advice. I’ll never surprise you with costs.

O — Objectives and opportunities
Once I understand your situation, we work out together what you’re aiming for. I’ll assess your income, outgoings, documents, and affordability, and map out the options that are genuinely available to you — including lenders you won’t find on comparison sites. This means looking at your mortgage, your protection insurance, and your home insurance together — because all three are part of making sure you and your home are properly looked after.

N — Navigate the best journey for you
Sometimes the options can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re already dealing with a lot. My job is to cut through the noise, explain your choices in plain English, and help you decide which route makes the most sense for your individual circumstances. We’ll work out the best path forward together, at a pace that suits you.

E — Engage
This is where the ball starts rolling. Once we’ve agreed on the right approach, I handle the whole mortgage and insurance application for you — liaising with the lender or provider, chasing documents, and keeping everything moving. You’ll never be left wondering what’s happening or what’s needed next.

Y — Your result
When your mortgage application is approved, your solicitor or conveyancer takes over the legal side of the property transaction. I’m still here throughout — keeping an eye on progress and available whenever you need me. If, for any reason, a mortgage or insurance application isn’t successful the first time, I’ll be straight with you about why, and we’ll look at what other options may be available.

F — Follow-up
This is the part of the process that takes more time than most people expect — and it’s where having someone in your corner really counts. I chase lenders, protection providers, solicitors, estate agents, and anyone else involved to keep things moving and prevent unnecessary delays.

S — Sorted.
Your mortgage is in place, your protection is sorted, and your home insurance is covered. Everything joined up, nothing left to chance. Time to get the kettle on and focus on what comes next.

If I’ve helped you through the process, sharing your experience means the world — and helps others in a similar situation find me.
